Most individuals around the world with the issue of neuropathy tend to only treat the symptoms of the nerve problem and do not concern too much of the cause.
Neuropathy is of different types. It can affect the nerves that go from your spinal cord or to the brain. Be it a diabetic nerve damage or damage from the liver, the cause of this has to be first addressed.
Today, most of the treatment prescribed for this issue is only directed to mask the pain. At certain times the medication prescribed makes the problem worse.
This is predominantly due to side effects caused by the drug prescribed for the problem. This actually triggers more problems and tends to magnify the issue instead of bringing the problem under control.
The most effective of most neuropathy solutions is to first address the causes of the problem and not just the symptoms.
Like any other machine, the human body will tend to heal the nerve if provided with the right directions. For eradicating neuropathy, the “tool” that has been found to be powerful is the right type of nutrition.
- It is a known fact that increasing the level of vitamin B1 in the blood is an extremely effective way of bringing down and if done effectively, reverse neuropathy. Vitamin B1 is required by the human body to repair the nerve damage.
The unfortunate part here is that the oral intake of vitamin B1 does not lead to an increase in vitamin B1 in your blood stream.
Earlier, there used to be the process of injecting vitamin B1 directly into the blood stream. This used to be done over a period of few weeks in order to increase the level of vitamin B1 in the blood.
- Some of the food items that are rich in vitamin B1 include brown rice, potatoes, whole grain rye, cauliflower, oatmeal, oranges, liver (beef, pork, and chicken), asparagus and eggs.
Another cause for neuropathy has been determined to be the deficiency of vitamin B12. This vitamin helps to support the outer layer that protects the nerve cells and is also responsible for the regeneration of nerve cells.
The issue however is that vitamin B12 is readily stored by the body and is not absorbed by the body. It is for this factor that much higher amounts of vitamin B12 have been used in supplements.
It has been scientifically found that even these supplements, even in large quantities, has not been a sufficient and effective solution.
There are a number of medications that are available in the market to eliminate neuropathy. If you have acquired neuropathy or are beginning to show symptoms of it, do not try medications of your own. Never get anything over-the-counter.
If you feel you have an issue, go straight to a neurologist. Neuropathy is a complicated issue and you do not want to complicate it further by means of incorrect drug intake.
Follow and healthy diet and you would never have to undergo any of it. Remember that most neuropathy solutions are in terms of prevention than in cure.
